Modern Warfare 3

As most of you probably already know, Joystiq ran a story on the new developers for Modern Warfare 3. If you did not know if this, the link is right here.

My personal opinion of the whole thing should not come as a surprise if you are a frequent visitor to the website. You should already know my opinion of Call of Duty.

I still stand by my statement of Black Ops being the last big CoD title, this just furthers my reasoning. Raven Software, who are definitely a talented team are doing the multiplayer, however they never really made crazy good multiplayer. Singularity was fantastic, but the MP was not.

The left over Infinity Ward with Sledgehammer games who are the new CoD developers Activision grouped together are making the single player.

Now, when multiple developers are working on a single game it usually doesn't turn out so well. Look at Bioshock 2. The game was decent, but nowhere as good as the first one. That game had five or so developers working on it.

Infinity Ward isn't even the same company anymore. All the main members left to go to Respawn now under EA games, and Sledgehammer games haven't even made a single game yet.

I imagine Modern Warfare 3 will not be as big as Activision is hoping for and will be let down. A part of me was hoping maybe, just maybe they would take a year off to looking around and really spend a lot of quality time on MW3, but I suppose I was wrong this is Activision we're talking about here.
