As I'm sure all of you PS3 owners out there know, we have yet to get Cross game chat like the 360 has had for quite some time now. Sony has said many times how "It's coming!" and yet, we haven't gotten it yet.
With Valve's recent announcement of Steam coming to PS3 with Portal it got me thinking.
What if Steam is going to be the way people will Cross game chat? I always assumed maybe Skype but now Valve has stated how Steam will be on PS3.
If you link your PSN to your Steam account after you buy Portal 2 for PS3 you get it for free for PC, you can invite your friends on Steam, chat with them, and see what they're up to.
That makes me think after a little while, Valve will just make it "If anyone makes a Steam account and links to PSN you can chat with anyone with a Steam account" or something along those lines.
It makes sense, but maybe too good to be true? We'll just have to wait and see.
