Resistance 3 - Ended with a bang and a whimper.

Kept you waiting, huh?

It's been a while, internet. I missed you.

Anyway! I just beat Resistance 3 and while it's fresh in my mind I wanna talk about my thoughts and opinions. So, I suppose this is a review.

First off, It's the best in the series. Better than 1 and MUCH better than 2. This one felt closer to 1 than 2, and that I am okay with. You actually have a weapon wheel again and can use all the creative weapons to your advantage. Which, by the way, the weapons in Resistance 3 are some of the most creative weapons I have ever seen in an FPS game. You have a weapon that infects the enemy with the chimera type virus! How cool is that?

The campaign is fun and varied. The storyline is interesting and draws you in, however, I still like Nathan Hale more than Joseph Capelli (Whom you play as now.) The game is a decent length and will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

The graphics are...varied as well. The particle effects and lighting are incredible. However the texture work is lackluster. The motion blur is also a nice touch. The audio is great, I love all the noises the Chimera make along with the weapons and vehicles.

The game also definitely had a different feel to it. The first two were huge military actions against the Chimera, this one had small groups of people struggling to survive trying to take them down. I liked that change of pace.

The multiplayer is a let down. The first Resistance had 40 people online at once, the 2nd had 60. This one has only 16 and plays like Call of duty and not Resistance. If I want to play Call of Duty, I will. This let me down big time.

Also, the game was pretty glitchy. I had to restart a level because an NPC got stuck on a object in the level and I couldn't advance without them. I also randomly fell in the game world at one point. The AI is pretty stupid and the game has a lot of audio hiccups.

Now, overall I had a great time with Resistance 3. It's a series that overall is overlooked and that is a downer. The ending game play segment was awesome, but the ending cutscene was, well, shitty. It ended weak.

I'm a fan of the Resistance series, but it's definitly not for everyone. If you were a fan of the first two, then by all means play this one. If you didn't really care for the other two, I don't know if three will finally win you over.
