Nintendo at E3

I don't think Nintendo understood the level at which the hype was set.  With a strong opening showing off Pikmin 3 with a smiling Miyamoto, you would have thought they set the stage.  The third party stuff shown did not provide you with the motivation to want a Wii U day 1, and I would imagine that most people are waiting for more proof of it's power and not it's limitations.  I will say that ZombiU is definitely on my watch list, and I think everything about it is very interesting from the use of the controller to the ideas of pressing on after death.  It's nice to see some refresh on titles we heard about last year, but nothing in those trailers really showcased much new or exciting.

I think that Nintendo had to get some very specific things out there, and live up to some high expectations; however, they are splitting a lot of their stuff about and you'll have to hunt down all the good stuff outside of their big E3 showing.  Tomorrow will be the 3DS focus, but I honestly think they need to recapture an audience for Wii U.

I have a lot of faith in Nintendo as a company, and I'm still very interested in what they have in store, but they have a lot of things left to prove to most people that it's worth getting.  I think they should have just gone all in with their showing today; Sunday's showing on the 3DS was the best thing they have had so far to me, and ZombiU is the best game shown to me for the new device.  Tomorrow night will be quite interesting to see.
