No Nintendo at E3 for 2013

I know a lot of people are going nutso about this, but honestly, I find myself completely ok with it.  Nintendo has been very strong with their Nintendo Directs and even in last year's E3, they did better off stage just having their little events anyhow.

I don't feel that Nintendo is making a bad move

With the PS4 and the NEXTbox being the big new machines at this year's show, the Wii U could look silly next to that.  At the same time though, Nintendo just needs that strong line-up of software and they are golden.  If they pull that off, and they did it all as a press conference, I also feel that it could get lost in the "battle for who win's E3".  I think it's smart of them to stay the course with things like the Directs and do what they have been doing for a little while now.

Am I sad that they aren't going to be at the event as big as before?  Well yeah, of course!  I always get hyped for their shows (admitted Fanboy here) but as long as I get directed content and info like they are still promising, I guess I'll be just fine! (also, I have crap to do that Tuesday, so I might have missed it anyhow - now I have a chance to just watch it all!)

I also don't think this is some kinda crazy doom-train for Nintendo either.  A lot of guys out there think this is Nintendo bowing out and accepting defeat - I just feel like they don't want to spend the money on something they are already doing well with for much much cheaper; they might have a better strategy that works for them.  Who knows.

Maybe this speaks more about the strength of the E3 shows than it does anything.  They have been a hard sell for the last few years - granted, that could be because we were gearing up for the new console launches and the like - but also, information is leaked prior to the event almost all the time.

Anyway - that's my two cents.
