Pre-E3 2013 Thoughts.

My basic thought rundown for the major 3

Microsoft - has a lot of ground to make up for, but could pull out of this one with some good software and maybe even MORE clarification as to the limitations being presented thus far. I want Xbox Live details to be talked about, as I would also like them to be changed. Stop barring things behind your paid model that are free for EVERYTHING else in the freekin' world that runs them (stuff like Netflix, seriously).  Free online play would be amazing, but just lock the rest of the goodies behind the paid one maybe?  That's a stretch I know....

Nintendo - needs to bring out more than expected.  We know that Mario and Mario Kart and Smash Bros are there, that's given.  We need to see a new Zelda (preferably what was shown as the demo would be awesome, and win a lot of people over) and even a new Metroid would be awesome.  Even better would be something fresh.  All in all, they have a lot of attention right now, they need to capitalize on it more than I think they will (which, honestly, will probably be enough to get me really excited)

Sony - this is their game to lose.  Honestly, I'm not going to be surprised when they announce a lot of the same policy stuff as Microsoft for the Xbox One, however, I think they will (read as need to) make some alterations to how they go about it on their end.  It's all about the publishers, but that doesn't mean that it's also not about the consumer.

As for third parties, I'm excited to see what they are doing.  Even though people hate EA, they put out some great software, and Ubisoft stole the show last year with a new IP and awesome franchises.

This E3 could be super great, revealing new consoles and a brand new outlook on how the industry is going, but it could also be the worst for the same reasons.

Let's hope it's a good'n

-Eddie
