As you probably know, it's November which means it's time for another Call of Duty title!
This one is developed by Treyarch, the same company that brought you World at War. I see this as being the last big CoD title. Since the whole fiasco with Infinity Ward, it doesn't seem like Modern Warfare 3 will see the light of day, and if it does it just won't be as good as CoD4, or MW2.
My opinion of CoD you're asking? I feel as though Treyarch just copies everything Infinity Ward does. World at War was basically CoD4 in WW2, and Black Ops is basically MW2 in the Cold War.
I haven't really "liked" a Call of duty game since CoD4. The multiplayer was pretty great and didn't seem unbalanced or unfair too me. From there on out, everything went down hill. I did still enjoy the campaign in MW2, but that multiplayer was such a train wreck I couldn't play it anymore. Black Ops is almost the exact same game in terms of multiplayer, sure they tried to fix what was wrong, but overall it's just the same game.
I still see Call of Duty as the Madden of FPS games. Call of Duty games are usually high quality titles, but they rarely are much different than the one before it. It's only a matter of time before Activision milks this series and everyone is sick of it. (See Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero)
I love Medal of Honor. It was refreshing to try something different. Sure it had it's flaws, but I'm confident EA learned from their mistakes and will fix that in the sequel.
I play Call of Duty 4 online for PC from time to time, a lot of people still play and I can enjoy it without Nukes, terrible spawning, and unfair killstreaks.
It's only a matter of time before people realize Black Ops is the same exact thing and go back to CoD4. The last "revolutionary" title in the series.
