Eddie's E3 Predictions

It's almost here guys; just a few more weeks and all of our speculation will be put to rest.  What will the big 3 bring to the table?  What surprises will we see?  What will change the wave of gaming as we know it?

It all starts on June 6th with Microsoft - so let's start there....

MICROSOFT
-I think Microsoft is going to stick with what works for them - timed exclusive content to let people know where they should be playing Modern Warfare 3 this year.  Also with exclusives, I bet we will also hear some of those exclusive games on PS3, like Final Fantasy vs XIII, coming to the 360 as well.
-Even though it was their focus last year, Kinect will have a huge part of their presentation.  However, this time around we are going to hear about that Gears of War thing, and more importantly, I also think and believe the rumors that the new Alan Wake project will be a Kinect game.  That will be really neat to see.  Overall, a slightly more "core" focus on Kinect.
-You'll see all the games you would expect, Gears, that rumored Halo remake, and get a taste of what Bungie is doing with the company.
-We will learn what the deal with buying Skype is and if it will effect Xbox Live in any way.
-Microsoft will make a joke at Sony's expense, that will also be insulting to everybody.

SONY
-Of course, right of the bat, they will apologize for the network.  Get it out of the way and make way for a solid presentation.
-We will get an overload of all of their great exclusives this year - Uncharted, Twisted Metal, Infamous ect.
-A huge part of this presentation will focus on bringing the NGP out into the mainstream audience, recapping what we heard in Japan's outing of the handheld.  We will get a price ($300-$350), we will get a date, we will get a name.
-Steam on PS3 will become something.  Not sure what, but added functionality with cloud based saves and networking possibly.
-We will get the update I heard from a Sony Rep about cross game chat and more social opportunities.
-More Move games, but this wont be a huge focus for them.

NINTENDO
-Let's face it, all we want to hear about at this point is this "Project Cafe".  It has so many rumors that we need some clarification and we need to know if this wont be the "Dreamcast launch" for Nintendo.
*Built in screen - the controller being more like their Classic for Wii
*It will be backwards compatible with Wii but not Gamecube.
*Controllers won't be as expensive as we think - $60 probably
*Graphics on par with 360 and PS3 - maybe slightly better.
*Better online, but still many options left out and more to be desired.
*No price, Quarter date, and still unanswered questions.
-The 3DS will get a set of great quality original games announced.
-The 3DS update on June 6th will allow you to see all the games shown and even maybe the press event itself through a download to your 3DS.
-Skyward sword gets a date
-We get gameplay of the new Mario for 3DS
-Nintendo announces just 1 new IP and we wait with bated breath to see if it comes to fruition.
-Third parties really get onboard and Nintendo starts getting serious with support and quality control, leaving the Wii to soak the casual market as they still continue to support it for the casual market.
-Retro Studios announces it's work on Donkey Kong Country Retruns 2 - Kremlins in the game, but only a little.

Third party stuff I don't have too much really to go with.  I'm always curious to see what goes down in their reveals, and I get excited for new ideas.  We will get a taste of Ghost Recon again, beta announcement, Dice will give us some Battlefield 3 Multiplayer live, Rockstar will give us GTA 5 and it's going to be like San Andreas with all of this new tech and Team Bondi will be helping them out.

I'm sure there is much more that I am forgetting, so give us a shout and let's get discussing and speculating!

-Eddie
